| The Folkston House’s history dates back to 1900 when the home was built and owned
by T.A. Christy. In April of 1908 T.A. Christy sold the house to J.W.
Vickery for $2500.00.
Jessie W. Vickery moved into the home in July 1908 where he and his family resided
until selling it only 4 years later to J.J. Stokes for $1600.00 in
1912.
In May 1937 Paxton Stokes, a family member of J.J. Stokes, had it completely remodeled
into an apartment building with all the latest modern conveniences.
It remained in the Stokes family until May 2004 when it became the
Folkston House Bed and Breakfast owned by Jeanne Scott.
